The Swedish Public Radio “Sveriges Radio” deserts its old Novell server environment and moves into a Microsoft centric solution. Pierre was responsible for the buildup of new infrastructure for Exchange and Lync communication, and the migration of all old data out of the Novell systems. 4500 mailboxes and over 10 million of mail were migrated and went live in a big bang, with zero downtime. As part of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency it was extremely important to the Swedish Public Radio to guarantee a smooth transition without interruption and a reliable solution fit for the future needs.

Saab Group (Defense Industries) and CSC signed outsourcing agreement for workplace services to approximately 15 000 end user workstations. CSC took over the service responsibility according to plan on 1st May 2010. In workplace services are End User Computing, Mail & Collaborative, Network Management, and Field support included for all Swedish Saab sites.

The Swedish Home Brewers Association (SHBF) is a non-profit association with about 1000 members. The purpose of SHBF is to spread information about small scale beer brewing, and especially brewing at home.
SHBF annually organizes the open Swedish Championship in home brewing. In 2010 was the 22nd time the championship was held, this time in Gothenburg. There are two types of evaluation of the beers, by the judges committee, and by the people. The judges blind tests all beers and ranks them in 11 classes according to type of beer. The people votes on all the present beers in three different classes; Top fermented, Bottom fermented, and Special Beers.
My fellow beer maker David Hertz and I entered the completion with only one brew, Gôtt, a hoppy but not bitter summer lager. The beer was represented in class 1 (Modern light lager) in judges’ completion and in class 1 (Bottom fermented beer) in people’s choice.
The beer placed second in judges’ completion and third in people’s choice.

We are very proud and happy; this was the third beer we entered in our second championship. In 2008 championship we won INKA class with our Hawaiian Wit and took home the beginners prize with our oak aged IPA Ferdinand.
In order to meet customers’ demands in today’s marketplace, corporations must continuously rework their processes for efficiency and innovation. The side effect is an increasing complexity, especially on the boundary between business and IT. It has been proposed that a Service-Oriented Architecture based on coarse-grained services, each supporting an individual activity in a business process, will enable more efficient business process redesign. However, fundamental questions as how a service is defined in terms of size and semantics are often left open, and only vague descriptions of the strategic and business consequences of a coarser or finer grained service exists.
I had the opportunity to conduct my Master Thesis together with Peter Sundling at Handelsbanken IT during October 2006 through March 2007. The research was conducted at the division for architecture and IT-strategy, CDXX. It was truly interesting to investigate such a hyped topic as SOA, and elucidate the problem of service granularity.
The objective of the thesis was to factorize the notion of service granularity, explicate how the factors are interrelated and explain how an organization’s strategic view on IT affects the optimal service abstraction level in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
